A Charlotte native with deep roots in the community, Jalen is passionate about youth development and creating opportunities for the next generation. With his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, he brings strategic leadership and business acumen to HOOP4CHANGE Foundation.
As President and Community Engagement leader, Jalen focuses on building partnerships and expanding the foundation’s reach throughout Charlotte. His hands-on approach to youth mentorship is evident through his roles as Program Director with SkillBoost Academy and Girls Coach & Skills Trainer with Charlotte Skill Factory.
A proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Jalen embodies the values of service and brotherhood in all his endeavors. His commitment to empowering youth through basketball and education drives his work in creating pathways to success for young people in his hometown.
First level of it, is to create real change in our community. I originally wanted to break barriers between the community and law enforcement. Host basketball related functions & events that we could invite them to so they would know more about who is in our community to prevent more tragedies.
2nd level is I love basketball, and creating spaces where good basketball can be played & encouraged. A lot good runs in the city, but I wanted to make something on a bigger scale for the east coast! Where every time we play we can support our community, since we play everyday anyway.
