A global soul born and raised in Fayetteville, NC. After spending some time in Japan, Herlene Council brings over a decade of fashion experience and creative energy to HOOP4CHANGE. A proud graduate of Winston-Salem State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Special Education, Herlene’s career spans professional modeling, brand influence, and creative entrepreneurship.

As our Creative Design & Merchandising Advisor, Herlene leads the charge in developing bold, culturally relevant merchandise and visual branding that captures the heart of our mission. From runway walks with Champion to launching collaborative designs with the Hoop4Change team, she brings both style and purpose to the forefront of our apparel and merchandise.

Herlene is passionate about building authentic relationships and designing with intention. Her influence helps bridge fashion with impact giving our supporters and youth something they can proudly wear and believe in.
